Happy 2022! I hope your year is going well! As the year seems to speed past us, I wanted to share some of the creative highlights I experienced in 2021. Even while we continued to endure the pandemic, I had some colorful and fun adventures .
In the beginning of the year I visited a beautiful mural near uptown Charlotte, NC by the fantastic artist, Georgia Nakima . Check out the video above to see the vibrant design.

In the Spring, I helped my mom, who's visually impaired, to create an abstract diptych painting for her bedroom. She did a fantastic job. and it was one of my top five favorite paint parties of all time.

I had the pleasure to partner again with my creative friends at Moazen Jewelry and Majestic Hue to host a fun creative event for Juneteenth. We had a wonderful time!

My husband and I were blessed to visit, enjoy and learn about the culture in the beautiful
Turks and Caicos islands. I love this  painting of the little girl which was featured in the hotel.
It was a fantastic trip.

I also enjoyed visiting amazing art exhibitions,  public art installations and murals throughout the year. The images below depict works of art that can be seen around Charlotte, NC.

One of our favorite releases in 2021 was our Outstanding Black Visual Artists Coloring Book. This resource features over 25 important Black visual artists including Howardena Pindell.
The art video above was inspired by some of  her phenomenal abstract paintings.

We finished 2021 by hosting a virtual paint party for Kwanzaa.
The event went well and was a great way to  celebrate Kwanzaa.
